Listed below is a small sample of
things to do in Yuma located within minutes of the Coronado
Hotel. There are simply too many to list them

Yuma Visitors Center is also located within walking distance of
the hotel.

Casa De Coronado Museum
Conveniently located on the property, the museum is rich with history of the
motel as well and of Best Western. The museum the original lobby of the hotel
and shows the history of travel and tourism.

Gateway Park
Enjoy the scenic shores of the Colorado river at the Gateway Park. Recently
renovated the park offers a sandy beach, fishing dock, playground, bathrooms,
picnic armadas, shaded parking and best of all it's completely handicap
accessible.

Yuma Territorial Prison State Park
One if Yuma's most popular attractions. Between 1876 and 1909, this
penitentiary housed many of Arizona's most dangerous and notorious criminals. At
one point the prison was converted to house a local high school, giving them the
name Yuma Criminals.

Yuma Crossing State Historic Park
The Quartermaster Depot was authorized by Congress in 1865 and served the entire
Southwest as a material transfer and distribution point for troops stationed at
the outposts of the Arizona Territory. The Park features the original Depot, an
early adobe house, stagecoaches, mule wagons, a steam train, an historic adobe
corral and a Visitor Center.

Century House Museum & Gardens
The house contains exhibits and period rooms, which tell the history of the
lower Colorado River region from the 1540's to the present. Next door is the
Adobe Annex. Constructed in 1873, it was the home of steamboat captain Jack
Mellon.

Yuma Valley Railway
Ride back through time aboard the Yuma Valley Railway. For two hours you will
travel along the Colorado River Route on a narrated tour as you view local
wildlife at the West Wetlands Park

Golf
Golf Digest magazine has rated Yuma as the 7th best city in the United States
for golf. Yuma's year round sunny skies guarantee a great day on the links at
any of the 13 diverse and challenging golf courses virtually every day of the
year.

Hunting and Fishing
Literally within minutes a sportsman can be fishing on the shores of the
Colorado river or one of our many other bodies of water. Hunting enthusiasts
come from all over twice a year to enjoy arguably the best dove hunting in the
country.

The Yuma Landing Bar & Grill offers exceptional dinning. The restaurant
is located on the site of the 1911 first plane landing in Arizona and displays
many historical photos and items.
